Progress & Evaluation

Assessments

A systematic evaluation process monitors academic progress, identifies learning needs, and encourages steady improvement throughout the year.

Assessments

Evaluation woven into everyday teaching.

At Crescent Matriculation Higher Secondary School, assessment is an integral part of the teaching-learning process. The school follows a systematic evaluation system to monitor each student's academic progress, identify learning needs, and encourage continuous improvement. Through regular tests and assessments, students receive timely feedback that helps them strengthen their understanding, improve performance, and achieve academic excellence. Parents are also kept informed of their child's progress through periodic progress reports. As per the norms of the Government of Tamil Nadu, the school follows the Continuous & Comprehensive Assessment (CCA) system for students from Classes I to IX.

Assessment Cycle

How progress is measured.

Weekly Tests

Weekly Tests are conducted regularly to evaluate students' understanding of topics taught during the week. These assessments help reinforce learning, identify areas that require improvement, and encourage students to maintain consistent study habits throughout the academic year.

Monthly Tests

Monthly Tests are conducted to assess students' overall academic progress across all subjects. These examinations enable teachers to monitor learning outcomes, provide constructive feedback, and help students prepare effectively for higher-level examinations through continuous practice and evaluation.

Terminal Assessments

Terminal Assessments are conducted at the end of each academic term to comprehensively evaluate students' knowledge, conceptual understanding, and academic performance. Following each assessment, detailed progress reports are issued, allowing parents and teachers to work together in supporting the student's academic growth and overall development.

Continuous & Comprehensive Assessment (CCA)

The school follows the Continuous & Comprehensive Assessment (CCA) system for students from Classes I to IX, in accordance with the guidelines of the Government of Tamil Nadu. This assessment approach focuses on the continuous evaluation of students through weekly tests, monthly tests, classroom performance, and terminal assessments. It aims to provide a holistic understanding of each student's academic progress while encouraging continuous learning, skill development, confidence, and overall personality development. Parents are encouraged to review the progress reports carefully and actively support their child's educational journey.
